FICTIONAL CHARACTER - Ready Player One
Wade is one of the millions of people that spend their time in the OASIS. The OASIS is a VR, online game where anyone can use the wildest imagination. After Halliday’s death, he made a challenge for everyone in the OASIS to find a golden egg. Whoever is the first to find it takes full control over the OASIS.

CALL TO ADVENTURE
After Halliday’s death, he sends out a message to everyone in the OASIS that whoever can find the golden egg hidden in the OASIS can control everything in the OASIS.
MENTOR/HELPER
Wade accepts this call and begins to look for the egg with the help of his friend Aech. Eventually, Wade meets Art3mis, a famous player also known for being an amazing Gunter. Art3mis teams up with Wade and Aech to find the golden egg.
CROSSING THE FIRST THRESHOLD
Wade is entering the OASIS more often than normal and is competing against other players that are striving for the golden egg.
BELLY OF THE WHALE
Wade visits the Halliday Journals building. Wade searches for the first clue to beating a race that grants Wade the first key. Wade looks at a video of Halliday talking to Ogden Morrow and wishing that things could go back to the way the past was.
Wade realizes that the secret to the race was to drive backward rather than forwards. In doing so, Wade is able to achieve the first key. This shows that Wade is not turning back from his Journey, and plans on finishing it.

My grandmother was invited to America by friends and family, to visit them. This would be beginning of her journey.
SUPERNATURAL AID
A friend of my family, helped my grandmother obtain a visa. They also helped my grandmother get a ticket to go to America.
CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
She crossed the New Orleans port of entry. My grandmother traveled all the way to America by flight to Illinois.
BELLY OF THE WHALE
There was a slight delay during the flight because of a severe storm. This showed how much she was willing to stay in Illinois. While she was there, she experienced cold and snow for the first time. Through all of that, she was willing to stay.
TEMPTATION
My grandmother wanted to go back to Belize because she had missed her family and friends very much. For 3 months she cried because she missed her family, and couldn't bear the cold. Even though she did want leave, she persevered, knowing she had to stay.
REFUSAL OF RETURN
My grandmother had intended to move back to Belize but decided to stay in America.
ULTIMATE BOON
My grandmother made a final decision to stay in America, with her family. She stayed and waited for the rest of her family to move to America with her.
FREEDOM TO LIVE
Living to America gave my grandmother many opportunities, all of which led to the birth of her grandchildren. She feels very happy with her decision.
